Titanium Update Manager

Hey folks, I searched the whole forum, the faq, etc. googled for it but haven't found anything meaningful so far:

1.) Is it possible to use the update manager for my own titanium application to look for new updates if there is a newer version?

2.) How can I use it to update my own application? Could you give me a full working example? Or maybe refer to an application that is using the update manager so I can look for it.

I have already tried all the given examples I found here, but they are actually not working.

Thank you very much in advance!

  • I hope I have understood your question correctly.

Titanium informs you of updates in the top right hand side of the window. The logo animates to the left with a link to download/install. (going on memory!)

Once you installed the update you need to go into your project and edit it Update to the new version/latest SDK from the Dropdown. Save and then recompile it.

    Hope that make sense.

    Thanks

  • Hi Mark and thanks for your answer. But I would like to use the update manager for my own application and not for the SDK. I am now developing an application with titanium. And if MY application (published to the users) has a new version, I would like to notify the users of the new version of my application.

Please have a look at that link: https://appcelerator.tenderapp.com/discussions/titanium-desktop-discussion/1-update-function

    Thanks and regards,
    Dennis

  • Seems to be a very hard question :) Anybody out there who knows, whether the Titanium.UpdateManager can be used for spreading updates to the users of my OWN application, not the Titanium SDK.

Thank you very much in advance
