Active tab icon effect

Hi everyone,

my client desires specific images for tabs, and also different ones for normal and selected states.

I am able to set the different icon for the selected state (by changing tab's icon property on it's window's focus event), but the blue effect on the icon is preventing it to look as intended. Is it possible to remove this effect?

  • What is your target platform, and Ti SDK? Would you paste a link to a screenshot showing the issue?

    • Thanks for your interest Hal, however, I've learned that this has little to do with Titanium and is just the nature of things with iOS. Icons are not meant to be colored, and it is not possible to remove the blue effect on selected tabs. The alternative approach is to use a custom made TabGroup control, such as one at: http://developer.appcelerator.com/question/46801/giving-to-the-community-custom-tabgroup-class-working-on-android-and-iphone

I've taken this JS class and adjusted it to my preferences/needs and am pretty happy with the results.
