Embedded PDF Viewer For Android

Just want to share this.

Since android doesn't support PDF viewer, anybody can easily render pdf document by using google viewer service. For example the url:

http://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.zingnightlife.com%2Fassets%2Fuploads%2Fplaces%2Fmenus%2F2011%2F01%2F13%2FThe_Manor_Menu.pdf

It looks good on mobile phone aswell.

  • You can view PDFs in Android by utilizing Android Intents. This blog post shows you exactly how to do this with Titanium: http://developer.appcelerator.com/blog/2011/09/sharing-project-assets-with-android-intents.html

    • Android's browser, at this time, does not handle PDFs. The only way around it is to open doenloaded PDFs with another program, like Adobe Reader.
