Mobile getting started guide, how to select mobile project type?

The Getting started guide says I can pick Mobile from the project types. I don't see that, the only option is desktop.

I'm on OSX.

Is something else required?

Also, I was under the impression that Appcelerator could compile for Mobile AND desktop in the same application. Is this not the case?

    1.desktop

    2.mobile

    3.iPad

  • This was a gotcha for me too, the options DOES NOT APPEAR as a select box… just click where it says "dekstop" and you will be prompt with mobile as well

  • The Desktop field is not clickable in any way.

I have the Andriod SDK (have done some dev in Eclipse before)… but the instructions don't say anything about setting up any SDKs or installing them - so either the docs are wrong, or I'm looking in the wrong place if that is the problem. Is there a "getting started" guide which actually starts from a new computer and moves to a functioning product?

  • Okay, I restarted and now it is there.

I think there is a bug in the osx product, because on first run, all I got was desktop.
