Contacts API for Android Platform

Wonderfull news about the GA of Titanium 1.0

I would like to know if i can get access to contacts on my android phone. My app is in limbo right now because i do not have any access to local contacts.

Is there available in 1.0 or if not when can we expect the contacts to be ported over to the Android platform.

Best Regards

  • Read access to Android contacts is available in the core Titanium.Contacts API. Android cannot add/edit contacts via the core Titanium.Contacts API, but you can do it by using Android Intents. Check out the "Forging Titanium Episode 9: Android Intent Cookbook" screencast to see exactly how to do this.

  • It's in the list of modules to add. We have a few more basic features to get it first. It should be in the next few weeks.

    • Hi Don,

Any word on when the Android contacts API will be implemented? I'm using Titanium Developer 1.2.1 and I have looked all over the API documentation but couldn't find any Android version of the contacts API.

      Thanks,
      -Dom
