How to vertical align text in a TextArea?

Is there a way to vertical align text all the way to the top of a TextArea? Right now, the text seems to begin rendering somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 pixels from the top of the TextArea's extent. The verticalAlign prop only seems to exist on the TextField. I think this question might also apply to to the UI Label object as well.
