SQL Errors

Is there a certain strategy that should be followed to avoid SQL Errors? It appears if you close the application while a database call is executing you get an iPhone quit unexpectedly error (PLSqliteException).

I'm getting an error: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'PLSqliteException', reason: 'The SQLite database at '/Users/…/Library/Application Support/database/database.sql' can not be closed, as the implementation has leaked prepared statements
