Any idea when Titanium is planning to add support for websockets?

Thanks

  • With a bit of hacking around, it is possible with things like NodeJS and NowJS and also custom events and a webview.

I've started building a chat client - to start learning this stuff - I call it "Socket To Me" ;)

Video of initial test here : http://mobods.com/144 (it's looking much nicer now)

  • Adding my voice to this feature request. There's also an issue in the issue tracker for this, if more people would register and watch that issue maybe Appcelerator will see there's a demand.

  • The problem is not the lack of support, but rather that the capability is shown by eg ('WebSocket' in window) but does not work.
I just spent two hours wondering why it worked in my browser and not in Titanium Desktop.
So, is websockets support planned or not?
