Retina Toolbar icons for iPhone 4 just showing bigger...

Hi there,

was playing with some icons in hi-def to be used with the iPhone4, specifically for the toolbar menu.

Based on the Apple HID http://goo.gl/HKA5 I should create an icon of about 40x40pixel …issue is that the icon just get displayed bigger in size and this is happening also with other "retina" icons I found online. http://goo.gl/SUFg

This is the screenshot: http://cl.ly/2O7U

Any tips on it?

    • Thanks for the reply…

mhh this seems only for the appicon and the default image :(
and for these Titanium does all the job for you, simply using the high res image will work on iPhone4 and 3.

My issue though is when I'm trying to create and use hi-res icons for the toolbar…

    • Hi Joe

I thought the iphone 4 automatically used the graphic name with the @2x and if not used the other?

      icon_name@2x.png
      icon_name.png

I can take a look at this later and if you don't get it resolved I will update my findings.

      Fingers crossed!

      Cheers

  • Thanks guys…

it did actually work put under my /Resources folder the "@2x" file. I thought was working same way as the appicon (simply use the higher res) but apparently not.

Just did a quick test, building it also on the device and it's all fine!

    Cheers.
