apkbuilder is DEPRECATED (Titanium Developer 1.2.1, SDK 1.4.1.1, Mac OSX)

I get this error when running the Android emulater:
http://pastie.org/1194547
note: I get the error, but the app is working fine in the emulator

This is the error I get, if I try to execute apkbuilder:
http://pastie.org/1194549

And I get this error when trying to build a distribution for Android:
http://pastie.org/1194551
note: this fails and doesn't finish the build

Android SDK is the newest and up to date, Titanium Developer is the newest 1.2.1 and the Titanium SDK is also the newest 1.4.1.1. I'm on Mac OS/X.

I have also looked into this, but it didn't seams to help: http://developer.appcelerator.com/question/61511/note-when-updating-mobile-sdks and http://developer.appcelerator.com/question/64381/failed-to-launch-kitchen-sink-android-on-121

What is wrong? Please help!!

  • Has this been resolved. I am seeing the same errors when I build for emulator, I have not tried to build for distribution yet.

  • Guys, I am getting this same error and now I cannot build for distribution. How can I get Titanium to work with the new Android SDK? This is pretty urgent as the project I am working on is due in one hour. Did Appcelerator see this coming?

No problem, I have it working now again. I also had problems building iPhone apps with iOS SDK - I have now reinstalled Titanium Developer, iOS SDK and Android SDK, and everything is working smooth again… some files must have been corrupted during some of my updates of iOS SDK, Android SDK or Titaium Developer SDK

  • I get the same error on Windows. It showed up when I updated my android SDK recently. While it's an "[ERROR]" it does not appear to be causing any problems. As you say, the app still compiles, installs, and runs in both the emulator and on my phone. I suspect that the apkbuilder script is outputting a notice that it's deprecated (shouldn't be used any more going forward). Titanium is probably programed to interpret any output from that script as an error. In this case, it's a deprecated notice not a real error.

  • Hi Tim,

Thanks, but are you able to build and package a distribution file? I'm not :(

  • Rasmus, sorry I missed your reply. I am able to build for distribution. I get the apkbuilder error only when compiling for the emulator. I don't know what to suggest to you if you're still having the same troubles.
