Prevent screen from turning off (Android)

I've got an app that I would like to ensure never lets the screen shut down. (Much like the navigation app google publishes) Is this possible? I've tried the following with no luck:

Ti.App.idleTimerDisabled = true; // to disable going to sleep

  • I am no expert but for iPhone apps you need to make a change in info.plist which allows 3 types of background to stay "alive". The three are Audio, Location and Voip..Hope that helps
