Best practices for gathering bug reports from users

Hi,

Once your application has been submitted to the appstore, is there a way to gather bug reports from users ?

I'm gonna submit my first app to the store, and I'm pondering what happens if a big bug occurs : how can I gather data about it, try to reproduce it, etc..

Do you know of any libraries providing these services ?

  • The Apple and Android markets do provide some data on crashes if you look through the available data in iTunes Connect and your developer account. In terms of user bug reporting, there are a few options out there that provide web service APIs, but you'd have to integrate that into your application if you wanted users to be able to report bugs in-app.
