I've noticed that using createSound (while using the preload attribute) will cause a very noticeable delay in the simulator the first time one is played. After this initial sound plays there is no delay for the others…
This isn't happening on the device itself so it isn't really a massive issue. Is this just a bug or am I missing something?
I got around this by the hack of playing a silent sound when my app is loading. It's a hack, but it works. Wish they would address the underlying issue as 1.5 didn't fix it.
